Lake County Museum of Art Announces Ileanne Buigas as Executive Director and Chief Curator

The Lake County Museum of Art (LCMA) in partnership with the Herbert Lehner Foundation is pleased to announce that Ileanne Buigas has been named as its full-time Executive Director and Chief Curator. Ms. Buigas holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Miami and has an extensive Marketing background. She has served as interim Executive Director since LCMA’s move to Tavares. The relationships she has formed with business and community members, plus her creative ideas have brought exhibits with local, national and international artists, created fundraising events that have funded LCMA’s programs, and expanded the museum’s Kids Art program.

Ms. Buigas volunteered with LCMA in 2018 at its previous Eustis location (formerly Lake Eustis Museum of Art). She was invited to join the Board of Directors that same year and immediately took on the Marketing role. During her first several months on the Board she expanded LCMA’s social media reach, arranged several interviews with local publications and was instrumental in launching its grand opening in Tavares in 2019.

“I am so thrilled to continue with LCMA as their full-time Executive Director and Chief Curator,” says Ms. Buigas. “I feel lucky to have found a Board that appreciates off-the-wall ideas and jumps in to make every event the best it can possibly be. I am looking forward to pushing LCMA to the next level.”

Thanks to the generous partnership with the Herbert Lehner Foundation, LCMA continues with its mission to promote art education to build culture and enrich our community. The museum welcomes visitors Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 12 noon to 4pm and accepts donations in lieu of an admission fee. LCMA is a 501(3)c registered nonprofit institution serving Lake County since 1995 and is funded by Memberships, Sponsorships and Donations. LCMA is supported in part by United Arts of Central Florida, State of Florida Department of State Division of Cultural Affairs, Lake County Department of Tourism & Business Relations, and the National Endowment for the Arts.
