Orange County Library System Announces New York Times Bestselling Author John Green Is Coming Into Town On January 24, 2025

Welcome home, John Green! Fans of Green’s fiction, philanthropy and online community will have the unique opportunity to hear from the author when he comes to town Friday, Jan. 24, 2025. Tickets go on sale Sept. 9 for An Evening with Author John Green, presented by the Lillian Louise Pharr Endowment Fund and the Friends of the Orange County Library System. This moderated discussion at the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts will explore his literary journey, inspirations and creative process. For more information, visit ocls.info/JohnGreen.

This is the first in what will be the annual Lillian Louise Pharr Author Series, made possible by a generous donation to the Friends of the Orange County Library System by the late Roger Pharr. An Orlando native, tennis legend and former Orlando Public Library volunteer, Mr. Pharr made the endowment in honor of his mother, enabling the library to bring exceptional authors and meaningful conversations to the Orlando community. More about Mr. Pharr’s life may be found at https://orlandomemory.info/people/roger-lee-pharr/.

John Green is the New York Times bestselling author of Looking for Alaska, An Abundance of Katherines, Paper Towns, The Fault in Our Stars, Turtles All the Way Down and The Anthropocene Reviewed. His books have been published in more than 55 languages and over 24 million copies are in print. He is one half of the vlogbrothers on YouTube and co-creator of educational series Crash Course. Green is an Orlando native and former Orlando Mayor Teresa Jacobs previously proclaimed July 24, 2015, as “John Green Day” in celebration of the film release of the Orlando-set novel Paper Towns.
