Highlights From Miss Orlando Pageant 2019 And The Winners Announced
The Miss Orlando and Outstanding Teen Scholarship Pageant was one to remember and a great way to kick off the new year of 2019 for all the winners. If you did not already know, the Miss Orlando Scholarship Pageant is the preliminary pageant to the Miss Florida scholarship pageant that connects to the Miss America organization. This past weekend on January 19, 2019, nineteen young women took the stage for a chance to win a portion of the $10,000 scholarship awards.
Upon arrival at the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts, the “early bird” crowd awaited for the doors to open to take their seats for the night.
Approximately twenty minutes before the program started, access was granted and we entered a world of “magic” with beauty queens from all over the State of Florida of all ages, noticeable everywhere throughout the Alexis and Jim Pugh Theater.
ACTION! The program begins with an amazing opening number by the Central Florida Community Arts performers and all we can say is that we felt like we were “on Broadway”.

Fast forwarding to the talent portion, we absolutely thought every contestant showed their inner star as talents ranged from singing, dancing to Taekwondo. One performance that caught our eye in surprise was the speed painting talent performed by contestant number nine, Anastasia Valimaki. It was a sweet and unique representation of the visual arts in the medium of painting.

Let’s not forget the gorgeous gowns and evening wear worn throughout the program. Every girl looked like a princess for the night. We captured a few pieces for your fashion entertainment.
Towards the end of the pageant, we were introduced to the princes & princesses of the Miss Orlando Princes & Princesses camp, held for the first time in the pageant’s history. The camp was started to help build confidence in children. The camp seemed to certainly fulfill its mission as the princes and princesses came on stage and put on a fiercely, amazing dance performance for us all.
